A busy Friday

I saw a big snake at the pond today. It quickly hid under a large rock. Nothing likes a hot rock or dark log as much as a reptile.

Three eggs in the Robin's nest. There are also three eggs in the bluebird's nest box. In the past, the first clutch is five bluebird eggs.

The frog or toad eggs are already changing. I see tailbuds!

My friend Hopemarie called me from her garden after accidentally digging up a rabbit nest. I quickly researched the do’s and don’t of rabbits nests and headed over to her house to get a few photos. I love that she included me.

Rabbits in their nest.

The allium are about to bloom. Allium are in the onion family.

Time to get out the rabbit spray to save the new growth in my garden. Those little guys love the tender shoots. Need to discourage them a bit.

I can’t believe they haven’t eaten more over here. Usually my tulips and lillies are gone by now. Lucky in ’11?

How long before the Robin eggs hatch? The Cardinal’s are back in our same small dogwood tree – hope nothing gets to their nest/eggs this time – the tree is just off the kitchen window, so awesome viewing! The kids want to see your toadlets ( Bells thinks they may be Western Toadlets ). Love the baby bunny nest photo!!!!

Thanks Bella for the toad info.! I think the robin’s eggs will hatch in about 14 days. I do hope your cardinals nest makes it this year! What do their eggs look like? xo
