The perfect time to run away from home

As I poured myself a cup of coffee this morning my husband mentioned he thought it would be a GREAT morning to clean out our closet.

I looked out the window at freshly fallen snow and bright blue skies and thought “this guy is whack!”  It’s a sunny Saturday.

When hubby went into the bathroom I quickly ran away….right out of the back door and into the woods.  Not a mature move, but a good move.

By the time I headed home a lot of the snow was melting and the skies had clouded over. My run away was perfectly timed.

Male House Finch and Goldfinch

A Downy Woodpecker

My favorite tree. Last January a raccoon peeked out of this tree when I was taking a picture.

Melting snow. My run away was perfectly timed.

  1. Wow–you got some great stuff out there! So did Mr. Jon get that closet cleaned out whil you were soaking up all the beauty and fresh air? (Love your new pic, pretty girl!)

No sir, he didn’t clean the closet. I’m trying to get him to take me out to dinner b/c I THOUGHT about cleaning the closet. He doesn’t think I’m cute. (:

Thanks for the picture compliment. (:

  3. What guy EVER suggests cleaning the closet? Ever??? :-) Good choice! I miss running away to the woods in Oliver Woods, too. (Your posts always make me wax nostalgic). Lovely shots. Very wintery!!

He has the weirdest suggestions I tell you Lisa. (: He’s a neat freak and I’m a walking dust bin of unorganization. (lazy) It wasn’t too cold either..mid thirties. Our winter moments sure have been limited this year.

  4. I’m with him on this one, sis. I wouldn’t have cleaned it out either once the offer was so harshly rejectd by the runaway bride; and probably would’t be inclined to take you out to dinner. If I were him I’d call a spontaneous poker party somewhere.

I didn’t think he’d clean it because HIS part is neat (:

He’s taking me out to dinner. He didn’t notice I even ran away from home….and once it got cloudy I started cleaning. I just found your birthday card in there- not even kidding.

  5. You should have called him after you were gone for awhile and said “don’t pay the ransom, honey, I’ve escaped”. :-)

Melissa, those are awesome pictures. Worth running away for. :-) xo

Thanks Bob. I need your help with this closet …all the shelves are super tall and I’m just over 5ft. No wonder its a mess. lol xoxo

      • Since I am 6 ft tall, I would love to help, dearest one, but I don’t do closets. LOL. Of course, I could always be sweet-talked into helping, but there is this problem of my location. Maybe you could bring the closets here?? LOL!! xoxo

Love the pictures! Mine wanted to organize under the bathroom sink…my thought was who ever looks there? The closets can wait until winter finally arrives!

(: It’s those hidden dad-like qualities… Luckily I organized all the bathrooms during the week or I’m sure that would have been on the priority list.

It really was Julie (: I imagine you’d have to be tripping over all sorts of critters and fencing to make your escape.

  13. Lovely pictures – sometimes something impulsive like this brings the most wonderful surprises. I especially like the picture of the bracket fungi on the tree filled with snow.

Thanks Jackie. We don’t get to see the sun much during our winter months and I guess it made me impulsive. (: I’ve been thinking of you and the undrinkable water since the flood. Glad to see the baby giraffe is well!
