we didn’t die last Friday
It was a great Friday, but Thursday was the best.
A turtle hatchling victimized by a vehicle tire. My daughter, Leah, begged me to peel it off the street saying it was too cute not to keep.
The turtle tucked into the scooter for a ride up the road.
Leah thought it was fun to have a "funeral parade" for an animal looking adorable even with a bit of its guts hanging out. Our Fridays are tough to beat.

thunderstorm... seeing a cloud stacked up with a thunderstorm is an exciting treat in March (if you're a weather nerd...stuck at home peeling up dead turtles.)
The girls and I ate dinner on Nana’s good china in honor of burning our Christmas tree on a camp fire.
The Christmas tree is lit and a thunderstorm arrived in time to save us from ourselves and a fiery doom.
A thunder-storm after a winter day of summer-like weather-- about four or five months early for our region--was weird and wonderful.

Terrific stuff. Being a turtle’s got to be a hazardous life, they’re such pacifists, so laid back and just wanting to be left alone to be on turtle time.
And to go from featuring the turtles so low to the ground to the rain clouds and fire makes this a really sublime and fascinating posting, but that’s what we’ve come to except from you goofy Michigan gals–we just never know what we’re gonna get.

I realize how weird this sounds, but, really, that is the most adorable dead turtle I’ve ever seen.

My boys always call be a turtle rescuer too … Box turtle in the road, and I always stop. Lovely photos.
