Melissa Fischer. wild in Michigan. naturalist

The sun sets, even when you can’t see it.

Today we are under a winter storm warning and will not get to see the sun set. Cold air will move over the warm water (ha!) of Lake Michigan, kicking up six to ten inches of snow.

I’m scheduled to trek through the snow, three hours north, while my husband hosts a weekend-long poker party. I’m hoping the snow event doesn’t interfere with my big plans, but if it does I may need local shelter for three wonderful gals.

Sunset in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The start….

We are snow free in Livonia!! They are predicting our first significant snowfall (over 2 inches) will hit sometime in February!

  3. Very pretty pictures, Sis!
Be careful in the North Country and I’m praying traveling mercies on yaw.
Can’t pray for good luck for Jon in his games of chance but do wish him luck and a large time to be had by all.

  8. The pictures are looking GREAT as usual. I’ve been out of town, out of touch, and with “Time Out of Mind.” No one but Steely Dan fans would understand the “Time Out of Mind” comment . It’s good to be back to normal; although I would be the first to admit that my normal is more than likely pretty strange for some. These gorgeous sunset pics will bring my “Melissa Folder” up to sixty-seven. Thanks so much for such beauty, Melissa. I looked up your camera and have become VERY interested. Of course Canon thinks it is great but it also gets excellent reviews from owners. Thanks for the info on that topic too. Be seeing y’all soon metaphorically.
