::2 simple ways to love December::

A young adventurous doe looking for easy food on the patio.
1. Love her.

*Loving may include, “I sure hope we’re having deer meat for dinner!”

Now that it’s legal to bait deer in Michigan, I can toss out a handful of dried corn for the birds, turkeys and deer to enjoy. I’m much more popular in sub-freezing temperatures, but haven’t minded the winter warmth.

A male Eastern Bluebird.

Normally a few inches or feet of snow would cover the white dashes of bird poo.

2. Love what you see in December.

The other 3 stayed along the fence line and she made her way right to the feeder and patio. Nice to see during daylight hours rather than just muddy hoof prints! xo

Thanks Bob. I had just been thinking that morning I hadn’t seen them in a while. Happy Wednesday (: (reporting the gray drizzle continues…)

  3. I love that bluebird shot as well, Bob. Melissa, on the rare times we receive snow this time of year it usually lasts a few hours. Now up at my cabin in WV – totally different story. Beautiful pictures!!!!!!!

We had about 30 minutes of snow last night that was nice to enjoy with the kids. It’s already melted though. They’re disappointed.

  4. That’s a loveable little doe, isn’t it. Love that warm, puppy dawg expression on her face. Pretty pictures.
