Looking for a hot box

The birds are looking for warm nesting boxes to roost in at night,

not places to bop and drop some eggs.

The bluebirds inspected and claimed this nesting box

as their own last week.

A Male Eastern Bluebird didn't tolerate the woodpecker's curiosity more than a few seconds before it swooped onto the scene.

The whole scene reminded me a bit of the Blue Jay….

Happy Friday western hemisphere!

Thanks for your comments. (: It’s always hard to ride the line of humor knowing I’ll have to show up at the kid’s school and be judged eventually.

It’s been a few windy days and most of the leaves are knocked down…. just a few days of that great intense color. I love birds too. There more interesting than I ever imagined. Thanks for stopping by Jai Long.
