mind YOUR bee’s wax

Since so many leaves have fallen it’s easy to see the large mammals hanging out in the back yard.

morning friend

Bluejay calling.. "Hey there's corn over here!".

My friend Dave started a few boxes of bees the a few years back and just harvested his first few frames of honey.

I didn’t bring my zoom lens to his house, so I had to sit right in front of the hive entrance to get a close enough picture of the bees.

The bees buzzing past my ears going to and from the hive was amazingly loud… SO loud it can be hard not to panic. But, it’s easy to know Dave is not the kind of person who would steer you into dangerous territory.

honey bees

The lovely spent hive frames.

A frame from the bee hive. The honey is removed and frames left out for the bees to clean up.

Yes the deer pass through a few times a week through the yard. It’s harder to see them through the thick summer brush so it’s always an exciting time when some leaves fall and we can spot them easily again. Thanks for your kind words!
