I was surprised by its speed too. It was very fast. I thought it’d sit still when I snuck up on it.

THAT TAIL! Oh my goodness. I never even knew groundhogs had tails. What the heck. Anyway, great photos. These remind me of my childhood home before they developed neighborhoods in the field behind my house. We always saw wild turkeys and foxes in the wee hours of the morning. Thanks for bringing back those lovely memories for me:)
