Melissa Fischer. wild in Michigan. naturalist

The dandelions are poking out after our 2nd warm spring day.

A few days ago I posted pictures of baby house sparrows.

A racoon got into the nest last week and ate all the babies. This egg remained in the next… probably an unhatched egg from the eaten clutch. I’d feel badly, but another pair of House Sparrows took over the Eastern Bluebird box next to this nest box.

Unhatched House Sparrow egg.

Everything got really interesting after the third dog, a puppy, arrived. Thank goodness for good outdoor weather!
