I got you a toad for your birthday.

American Toad. This Toad was hanging out in my friend Kelly's empty pond. It's her birthday toad. (:

I can't wait to put away the hats and mittens. Our cat drags hats and mittens from the mud room into our bedrooms as gifts. It's better than dead baby animals, but pretty annoying…. and weird. We have a lot of winter laughs over the cat defending us against the scary hats and mittens

Winter hat. .

An Eastern Bluebird. The bluebirds perch and hunt insects from this wire. I saw a stink bug today-happy hunting.

Saw my first toad of the season on Sunday. I scared him dragging a huge bucket of weeds to the back. Even at that, he was a bit slow moving.

This one was pretty slow too. Glad you were able to garden a bit…hope it went well. (: I’m looking at a huge dandelion in the middle of my gardens. Seems the weeds have started taking off!

Ah spring, that time when the young princesses start kissing toads to find their handsome prince.:)

We’ve been keeping our eye out for frogs, toads and snakes, but haven’t seen any in the yard…yet!

  4. I can almost see the crusty winter sleepies in his eyes. Apparently all the slow and crusty potential princes hang on in my empty pond. He was one of three. A three toad birthday!
