freezer burn..I mean burn then freeze….

Spring brought us temperatures near 90°F over the weekend and temps around 30°F this morning. Our pink sunburns will change to wind burn.

So far the Bluebird nest box has a beautiful nest in it, but no eggs.

My neighbor spotted a large snake down the road, but I missed seeing it. Hopefully we’ll be seeing lots of snakes and turtles soon. It’s usually easy to find reptiles laying warming themselves in the sun since warm spots are rare and obvious in Michigan.

daffodils. It was too windy to get a clear picture. Daffodils are one of the few bulbs that the deer and rabbits will leave alone.

Song Sparrow singing. They nest on the ground. Last year I could watch one fly into the brush all the time and was still unable to find its nest.

  1. ground nesting doesn’t seem like a smart strategy for such little guys!

It drove me nuts not being able to see that nest…. I know I was looking right at it, but not seeing it!
