My back is killin’ me!

Praying mantis cocoon. This is the first spring I haven't come across one in my garden. Luckily you can buy them online and have them mailed to you.

Staghorn Sumac. The fuzz on its bark glowed in the sunlight.

Her back has got to be killing her. Every time I look out a window I see these two going at it. I wish I liked them..... stinkin' parking lot sparrows.

Birds are like people – looks and behavior does not make some of them more worthy of respect than others.

I know you’re right Mom. It’s been a spring of personal growth. I remind myself of that when I feel like yanking their nest out. It was the hardest when a chickadee kept checking out their nest box. I was releived to see the bluebird and hosue sparrows work to chase the grackles and starlings away. Love you Mom.
