Running for no reason

My daughter was home sick (and I use the term loosely) and she noticed some white-tailed deer coming towards the house.

.

entering the scene….

surveying the yard

A female Eastern Bluebird in the foreground. A small herd of around 15 white-tailed deer. The deer stretched down the path about 50 yards.

the onset of panic

A few young deer panic and the herd sets off.

full retreat… there’s one in every crowd….

One of the deer missed the cue: run to the right.

  1. How exciting to have this happen in your front yard! Great shots! The White-tailed Deer is the predominant deer in this part of Texas.

Are there any elk in Tx Bob? I love seeing the deer in the yard even when they eat my flower garden!

She was ready to go back today and with a smile. Their class has a goal to each read 300 minutes. I overheard her tell Jon she was hoping to “get them over with and out of the way”. xoxo

Thanks JLo. (: That’s nice to read after ruining yet another batch of cookies intended for the new neighbors. I’m horrible in the kitchen!
